The 10-day Singapore weather outlook

NEA issues an official 4-day forecast. Beyond four days, individual day forecasts become unreliable, but the overall trend (e.g. whether the next 10 days will be wetter or drier than normal) is still useful. This page combines the official 4-day forecast with a climatology-based outlook for days 5–10.

Why does forecast skill drop after 4 days?

The atmosphere is a chaotic system. Tiny errors in measuring today’s weather grow over time, so a forecast for tomorrow is highly accurate, but a forecast for 8 days out can be wrong in both timing and detail. By 10 days out, we are closer to a climatological average than a real forecast. That’s why we mark the extended outlook as low confidence.

How to read the 10-day outlook

  • Days 1–4: treat as authoritative (NEA 4-day forecast)
  • Days 5–7: useful for general planning, not for timing specific events
  • Days 8–10: a general sense of the weather pattern, not a precise forecast
  • Always cross-check with the live rain radar on the day
