Coolest part of the day. During the Southwest Monsoon, expect early morning Sumatra squalls that can arrive with little warning.

Afternoon (12:00–18:00)

Hottest period with peak temperatures around 14:00–16:00. This is when afternoon thunderstorms are most likely, especially during the inter-monsoon periods.

Singapore weather hour by hour

NEA does not publish a strict hour-by-hour forecast; instead the official 24-hour forecast is broken into morning, afternoon, evening and night, and the 2-hour nowcast covers the immediate future. This page combines those official products with the typical diurnal cycle in Singapore to give an hourly weather forecast for planning your day.

The diurnal temperature cycle in Singapore

Because Singapore is on the equator, the temperature cycle is very stable. Temperatures fall to around 24–25°C just before dawn, climb through the morning, peak at 31–33°C between 14:00 and 16:00, then ease through the evening. The hourly forecast here uses that cycle plus the latest 24-hour forecast to estimate each hour.

When does it rain in Singapore?

Most rain falls in the afternoon (14:00–18:00) during the inter-monsoon periods, when the sun heats the ground and thunderstorms build. During the Southwest Monsoon (June–September), early morning Sumatra squall lines can bring intense rain before dawn. During the Northeast Monsoon (December–March), rain can fall at any hour, often as long steady spells rather than short thunderstorms.
