Overview

Singapore has a tropical rainforest climate with no distinct seasons. Year-round temperatures range from 24°C to 32°C, with high humidity and abundant rainfall.

Located just north of the equator (1.3°N), Singapore experiences relatively uniform weather throughout the year, with two main monsoon seasons affecting rainfall patterns.

Northeast Monsoon

December to March

The wetter of the two monsoon periods. Brings steady rainfall, especially in December and January. Cooler nights with temperatures occasionally dropping to 23°C.

Southwest Monsoon

June to September

Generally drier with less rainfall. Morning showers are common, with clearer afternoons. This period may bring Sumatra squalls in the early morning.

Inter-Monsoon (Mar-May)

April to May

Light winds and afternoon thunderstorms. Some of the hottest months with temperatures occasionally exceeding 34°C.

Inter-Monsoon (Oct-Nov)

October to November

Transition period with frequent afternoon thunderstorms. November is typically the wettest month of the year.
