South-central leafy district. Urban but with more tree cover than the downtown core.
How rain usually arrives here
Tanglin is urban but leafier than the CBD, so it runs a touch less hot at night. Storms that form over the south-central area often pass through. It is not a squall-first town.
A cell on the 50 km radar over the southern towns can be on Sentosa in minutes. Lightning, not just rain, is the outdoor stop.
South Singapore
The south coast and downtown sit in the urban heat island and in the sea-breeze clock. Afternoon storms often fire just inland of the Strait. Nights in the city stay a degree or two warmer than Mandai.
